A PhD position will be available at University of Pavia in Italy starting November 2025.

The candidate will work on new computational approaches for the simulation of smart polymers and hydrogels and their application to mechanobiology studies. 

A Master degree in Engineering is mandatory. The candidate should have a background on solid mechanics, knowledge of finite elements, and programming skills (preferably, Matlab, Fortran, Mathematica, Phyton). 

The student will be supervised by Prof. Giulia Scalet at the University of Pavia in Italy and will be part of these activities funded by the ERC Starting Grant “COmputational DEsign for 4D BIOfabrication: harnessing programmable materials for dynamic pre-clinical cancer models”.
