Resumes, CVs, Cover Letters
A resume is a simple, insightful article summarizing your talents, qualifications, and experience. It should stress your best strengths and separate you from other applicants.
A CV (curriculum vitae) is just a description of your experience and skills, seen more commonly in academic contexts, although a CV will provide more credentials applicable to academics and science, such as publications, presentations, and references.
Your cover letter is a way to present yourself to organizations that would complement your resume in a narrative style. To explain your credentials as well as your involvement in both the work and the company, use your cover letter such that the interviewer may choose to meet you. As the primary aim of a resume and cover letter is to “market” you, have the recruiting interests of the company always in mind.
