Early universe’s ‘little red dots’ may be black hole stars – New Study

Puzzling objects spotted by NASA’s JWST telescope may be entirely new class of celestial entity

Summary

NASA’s JWST telescope has detected peculiar objects that don’t fit neatly into existing astronomical categories. These objects, dubbed “JWST Advanced Deep Extragalactic Survey (JADES)” objects, are exceedingly bright in infrared wavelengths and appear as small, point-like sources, yet don’t seem to correlate with any known galaxies. Scientists speculate they could represent a previously unknown class of celestial entity, possibly supermassive black holes forming earlier and faster than predicted or even new, exotic astrophysical phenomena. Further research and data analysis are crucial to understand their true nature and redefine our understanding of the early universe.
