PhD Student Openings in Integrated Photonics — Dartmouth College

The Rizzo Integrated Photonic Systems Laboratory is hiring! We have two fully-funded PhD positions available for this coming application cycle. For more information about the lab and our research, please visit https://t.co/SsSKzLx0W4. We have numerous on-going projects with industry, government, and academic collaborators with many opportunities for students to tape out large-scale integrated photonic circuits in state-of-the-art foundry processes. Students will experience multiple complete design-fabricate-test cycles of integrated photonic circuits, including device/circuit simulations, chip layout for foundry fabrication, and hands-on experimental testing of the fabricated chips. Our current projects span many different applications of integrated photonics, including high-speed data communications, photonic computing, photonic biosensing, quantum computing, and quantum networking.

Our state-of-the-art laboratory, completed in May of this year, was designed from the ground-up for integrated photonics test and measurement. Testing capabilities include broadband wavelength characterization from the visible to mid-IR, multiple chip-level electro-optic probe stations for DC and RF electro-optic measurements, and high-speed measurement capabilities up to 36 GHz (including 56 GBaud PAM-4).

If you’re interested in applying, please send your CV and a short description of your background/interests to Anthony.J.Rizzo@dartmouth.edu. For more information regarding the Dartmouth Engineering PhD program, please visit https://t.co/fkdBHcHF4z.
