Efficacy of combined TAE, HAIC, targeted, and immunotherapy in unresectable HCC: a multicenter propensity score matching study



Summary

This study investigated the effectiveness of combining transarterial embolization (TAE), hepatic arterial infusion chemotherapy (HAIC), targeted therapy, and immunotherapy for unresectable hepatocellular carcinoma (HCC) using a multicenter propensity score matching (PSM) analysis. The researchers compared outcomes of patients receiving this combination therapy against those receiving other treatments. The study aimed to determine if the combined approach improved overall survival and progression-free survival in patients with advanced HCC who were not eligible for surgery. The PSM method helped to reduce bias in comparing the different treatment groups.
