Bispecific killer cell engager-secreting CAR-T cells redirect natural killer specificity to enhance antitumour responses
Summary
Genetically engineered CAR-T cells can be modified to secrete bispecific killer cell engagers (BiKEs) targeting both tumor-associated antigens and NK cell activating receptors. This innovative approach, known as BiKE-secreting CAR-T cells, effectively redirects NK cell specificity towards the tumor microenvironment. By recruiting and activating NK cells, these modified CAR-T cells amplify the anti-tumor response, leveraging the cytotoxic power of both T cells and NK cells. This combined strategy aims to overcome limitations of conventional CAR-T therapy, potentially improving efficacy and persistence in solid tumors and reducing the risk of relapse.
