PhD Opportunity in Biodiversity Sciences – Concordia University, Montreal
The Community & Quantitative Ecology Lab at Concordia University is inviting applications for two MSc or PhD positions in Biodiversity Sciences. Our research explores the ecological processes that shape biodiversity patterns across space and time, integrating conceptual frameworks with applied studies. The successful candidate will receive a highly competitive stipend and have the flexibility to design a research project aligned with their own interests, as long as it fits within the lab’s diverse research areas (see Pedro Peres-Neto’s lab page). Through this work, the student will develop advanced expertise in data science, and both empirical and applied biodiversity research, gaining skills that are academically rigorous and widely transferable to conservation, environmental management, industry, biodiversity science, and contribute to understanding and conserving the natural world.

The position is based at Concordia University in Montreal, a vibrant, bilingual, and culturally rich city offering an excellent quality of life. The preferred start date is flexible.
