The Postdoctoral Scholar will work under the mentorship of Dr. Monica Cox and in collaboration with Dr. Amena Shermadou to advance interdisciplinary research in engineering education. The scholar will contribute to ongoing projects and initiate original research centered on faculty development, workplace culture in academic and professional settings, culturally responsive pedagogy, organizational change, and other emerging topics. Emphasis will be placed on applying research insights to workforce development, equity-driven educational practices, and systemic transformation across STEM education and leadership ecosystems. This postdoctoral position is dedicated to studying autophagy functions in glia for breast cancer brain metastasis. The Wang laboratory also focuses on the functions and mechanisms of selective autophagy and lipid metabolisms in neural stem cells, microglia, and astrocytes. The lab developed novel genetically engineered mouse models to study roles of autophagy genes in brain developmental and in progress of breast cancer brain metastasis. We use a variety of techniques including single cell RNA-seq, single nuclei RNA-seq, single cell lineage tracing, human iPSC derived cerebral organoids, chemogenetics, clarity technique, patch clamp, super-resolution images, metabolic/molecular/cellular approaches to gain insights in autophagy’s functions in human developmental disorders and breast cancer brain metastasis.  

The Department of Physics within the College of Arts and Sciences seeks a Post Doctoral Scholar to join our CMS Experimental group working at the CERN Large Hadron Collider.  

The CMS group invites applications for a Post Doctoral Scholar position that will be based at the OSU campus. The group is involved in several analyses and upgrade projects, including the Track Trigger Upgrade for the high luminosity running of the LHC and searching for Beyond the Standard Model physics using effective field theory.  The Post Doctoral Scholar will take a leading role in analysis of Run 2 and Run 3 data in the top-antitop + photon analysis using effective field theory.  The candidate will take a leadership role to move the analysis toward publication.

The post-doc would be expected to conduct literature reviews, organize workshops, and implement surveys of database managers/developers, fishery managers, and academic and agency researchers, to help identify a data-sharing architecture (“database ecosystem”) suitable for use in the Great Lakes Basin. A potential need to conduct structured or semi-structured interviews also exists. Ideally, this database ecosystem would allow end-users (e.g., academic and agency researchers, fishery managers) to simultaneously query independent Great Lakes databases and download their needed data through a user-friendly online interface.

In addition to writing and submitting manuscripts for publication to peer-reviewed journals, the post-doc would be expected to present findings at management and scientific meetings, as well as help generate annual progress reports to the Great Lakes Fishery Commission, which is this project’s sponsor. The opportunity to contribute to ongoing fisheries-focused research in the Great Lakes basin, including refining and using an independent Great Lakes Recruitment and Ecosystem (GLaRE) database would also exist, if of interest.

Required: PhD in social science, data science, computer science, information systems, environmental science, ecology, or related field. We are seeking a highly-motivated postdoctoral scholar to contribute to the development and clinical translation of advanced MRI methods for women’s imaging. The ideal candidate will have a passion for scientific discovery and bold initiatives that seek to break barriers and maximize clinical impact. Post Doctoral Scholar to pursue specialized research training and experience under the guidance of a scientific mentor; conducts research related to supportive care, including but not limited to pain, in individuals with cancer. Additional areas of focus may include prevention, diagnosis, and treatment of substance use and use disorders in people with cancer, behavioral intervention development/testing, and implementation science. Responsibilities may also include participating in qualitative interviews and analyses, participating in other study design and analysis, preparing manuscripts and grants, and training others (e.g., students, staff) in relevant methods and procedures.

Postdoctoral researcher will implement clinical interventions with people with cancer under the supervision of Dr. Sharla Wells-Di Gregorio. The primary study involves implementation of a combined mHealth-telehealth symptom cluster (sleep, worry-anxiety, fatigue, depression) intervention for people with advanced cancer (1R01CA281885-04A1). This study will also examine immune and hormonal biomarkers that affect symptom clustering. The second involves a brief telehealth intervention with people with pancreatic cancer. Postdoctoral research will collaborate with Dr. Wells-Di Gregorio on manuscripts, grants, and presentations. Additional responsibilities will include data management and analyses, collaboration with biomedical labs, and teaching/supervision of research staff. We are seeking a highly motivated postdoctoral researcher to join an interdisciplinary collaboration between Dr. Yuan Xue (Department of Biomedical Informatics) and Dr. Andréa Ferreira Zandoná (College of Dentistry) at The Ohio State University. This position offers a unique opportunity to lead cutting-edge research at the intersection of artificial intelligence and dental health, with a focus on building multimodal AI models to predict dental caries progression.

The successful candidate will work on developing deep learning and computer vision models using longitudinal dental imaging data—primarily intraoral radiographs—integrated with clinical and behavioral data collected from multiple collaborating institutions. The overarching goal of this research is to enable early and accurate prediction of caries lesion progression to support precision prevention and treatment planning. The postdoc will lead efforts to design multimodal learning architectures (e.g., attention-based fusion, progression-aware temporal modeling), perform rigorous model validation, and help translate research findings into clinically meaningful insights in close collaboration with dental experts.
