Hong Kong University of Science and Technology (Guangzhou) Intelligent Manufacturing Domain Recruits Doctoral Students, Postdoctoral Fellows, and Research Assistants

[Instructor Information]
Dr. Shiyuan Liu will join the Smart Manufacturing Field (SMMG) of the Hong Kong University of Science and Technology (Guangzhou) in October 2024 as an assistant professor and doctoral supervisor. Dr. Shiyuan Liu studied for his undergraduate degree in the Department of Materials Science and Engineering at the Southern University of Science and Technology; and for his doctorate in the Department of Mechanical Engineering at the City University of Hong Kong. As the first doctoral student, he joined the Smart Transducer and Vibration Laboratory (STVL) and studied under Professor Zhengbao Yang, focusing on the research and development of flexible piezoelectric materials, the exploration of new green ceramic preparation processes, and the research of flexible smart wearable devices, energy harvesting systems, and acoustic diagnostic equipment.

[Research Direction]
Dr. Shiyuan Liu’s research directions include: 1) thin film micro-nano processing; 2) functional ceramic additive manufacturing; 3) flexible wearable device research and development; 4) smart diagnostic equipment research and development. In the future, the research group will focus on studying and improving the interface of materials from atomic to macroscopic scales, thereby innovating material processing strategies and optimizing material properties. By doing so, we hope to design advanced smart materials and devices to solve key challenges in healthcare, large industry, and the environment for the benefit of mankind. Dr. Shiyuan Liu will recruit 25 PhD students for spring/autumn enrollment, as well as research assistants and postdoctoral fellows with flexible schedules. We hope you:

[Salary]
According to the standards of the Hong Kong University of Science and Technology, full-scholarship PhD students will receive a scholarship of 15,000 RMB/month.
