Nanotechnology for immuno-oncology – New Study
Nanotechnology for immuno-oncology
Summary
Nanotechnology offers promising solutions for immuno-oncology, enhancing cancer immunotherapy’s effectiveness. Nanoparticles can improve drug delivery to tumors and immune cells, overcoming limitations of traditional methods like poor solubility and systemic toxicity. They can also stimulate immune responses directly by carrying antigens, adjuvants, or immunostimulatory molecules. Furthermore, nanotechnology enables precise tumor microenvironment modulation, turning “cold” tumors “hot” by increasing immune cell infiltration and activation. Diagnostic applications like biomarker detection and imaging further aid in personalized immunotherapy strategies. While challenges remain in translation, nanotechnology holds significant potential to revolutionize cancer treatment by boosting the immune system’s ability to fight tumors.
