      PhD Candidate (m/f/d) job with Leibniz-Institut für Analytische Wissenschaften – ISAS – e.V. – (Jobs)


      The Leibniz-Institut für Analytische Wissenschaften – ISAS – e. V. develops efficient analytical methods for health research. Thus, it contributes to the improvement of the prevention, early diagnosis, and therapy of diseases like cardiovascular diseases or cancer. Overall, the institute strives to advance precision medicine by combining knowledge from different fields such as biology, chemistry, computer science, medicine, pharmacology, and physics. ISAS is a member of the Leibniz Association and is publicly funded by the Federal Republic of Germany and its federal states. 

      At our location in Dortmund, we invite applications for the Research Group Proteomics:

      PhD Candidate (m/f/d)

      You will be responsible for:

      • Planning and performing proteome and phosphoproteome analyses as part of the DFG funded project: Identification and characterization of interferon γ-stimulated effector proteins and interferon γ-repressed dependency factors limiting cytomegalovirus replication
      • Continuous development of existing methods and procedures for use in the joint project
      • Evaluation, analysis, and visualization of data
      • Documentation of laboratory work
      • Collaboration with other project partners and regular presentation of results

      Your profile:

      • Masters, Diploma or equivalent degree in in a scientific field (e.g. biology, chemistry, physics) or related subject (i.e. Pharmacy, Food Technology)
      • Experience in a laboratory environment, ideally in the field of bioanalytics
      • Preferably experience in phosphoproteomics
      • Strong communication skills, organisational talent and a solution-oriented way of working
      • Confident use of MS Office
      • Willingness to travel on business
      • Very good written and spoken English; German an advantage

      The part-time position (65%) is offered for three years. The position is available immediately. The salary will be according to the German TV-L. The time limitation of the contract is based on the Wissenschaftszeitvertragsgesetz (WissZeitVG).
