📢 Urgent Requirement of a PhD Candidate at Yeungnam University (Republic of Korea)
The School of Chemical Engineering, Yeungnam University, Republic of Korea, invites applications for a PhD candidate position under the supervision of Prof. Seong-Cheol Kim. Applicants currently residing in Korea will be given first preference.
🔹 Position Details
Start Date: 1 Sept 2026.
Duration: Minimum 4 years
Stipend/Salary: ~ 1.1 million KRW/month (as per university regulations)
🔹 Research Area
The candidate will engage in interdisciplinary research combining computational chemistry (DFT calculation, Molecular Docking, MD). The project involves advanced material/ nanomaterial synthesis, characterization and applications in material science.
🔹 Eligibility Criteria
Required Qualifications:
M.Sc. (or equivalent) in Chemistry/Physics, or Chemical Engineering or material science.
Required Experience/Skills: Hands-on experience in DFT calculation, Molecular Docking, MD. Basic knowledge and/or experience in material characterization and DFT calculation, Molecular Docking, MD.
Strong motivation for pursuing independent research and contributing to scientific advancements.
Language Proficiency (Applicants must meet one (Korean or English) of the following for tuition fee waiver):
Korean: TOPIK Level 6
English: TOEFL iBT 100, IELTS 7, or TOEIC 900 or above
Preferred Attributes:
Good communication and teamwork skills.
Ability to work in an interdisciplinary environment.
Prior publication or research experience in related areas will be an advantage.
