We are seeking three highly motivated and talented Postdoctoral Researchers to join our team and contribute to our cutting-edge activities within photonic quantum computing. The open positions are attached to four different collaborative projects with related but distinct goals, all making use of our expertise in squeezing-based entangled states of light:

Recently, freestanding oxide membranes have become available, allowing seamless integration with 2D materials in hybrid heterostructures. When combined with patterning (i.e. superlattices) this architecture has unparalleled scope for quantum property design. Your particular focus will be on developing a novel characterisation platform that allows fully functional devices to be analysed with TEM and nano-ARPES, as well as other characterisation techniques. You will assemble complex heterostructures with control of twist angle and join our search for flat band physics, new topological phases and hysteresis-driven memory mechanisms. 

DTU Physics seeks a talented and motivated postdoctoral researcher for a 2-year position in computational nanophotonics. The goal is to use inverse design, such as topology optimization, for enhancing light trapping in nanostructured thin-film solar cells.

Your role will focus on developing and applying large-scale electromagnetic simulations to identify optimal nanostructured light-trapping surfaces that maximize light absorption in thin-film solar cells. A key aim is to establish a simulation-driven workflow that systematically explores the design space of nanostructures using different materials, producing a comprehensive dataset of structures and their optical properties. This dataset will serve as input for AI-based design tools developed by collaborators within the project.

We offer an exciting postdoc position dedicated to developing methods for detecting performance disparities in foundation models for fetal ultrasound and understanding what causes the disparities. While foundation models offer great promise for creating more robust machine learning models for a wide array of tasks, it remains an open problem how to foresee their biases across that wide array of tasks.

As a postdoc, your responsibility will be to collaborate with a team of technical and clinical researchers to create methods and toolboxes that can be used to diagnose biases in foundation models. The project includes both Rigshospitalet and the startup Prenaital Aps as partners, and you will also be working with them to design tools that are useful both for developers, whose goal is to create more robust models – and for clinicians, whose goal is to determine when to trust the models. We therefore seek candidates who have strong technical background in working with large-scale deep learning models, and who are excited about collaborating with users to create technology that solves their problems.

We seek a highly motivated Postdoc to study the role and regulation of secondary metabolites in microbiomes. In this position you will get the opportunity to apply and develop your skills within microbiology and analytical chemistry to determine how secondary metabolites interacts with microbiomes and vice versa. Conventional electrocatalysts with two-dimensional active sites, however, have a fundamentally limited efficiency for facilitating complex reactions that involve three or more reaction intermediates, due to the “scaling relations”. In CAT3D, a five-year Villum Young Investigator project that fully funds this postdoc position, along with an additional postdoc and one PhD position, we will tackle this grand challenge by fabricating and studying electrocatalysts with three-dimensional active site structures. With concerted and concentrated research efforts, we aim to pave the way for developing the next-generation electrocatalysts for a broad range of green technologies

We have a successful record of activating molecular N₂ or CO₂ through thermal heterogeneous catalysis. For instance, we recently identified a new class of promotion based on spin quenching on Cobalt and Nickel doing surface science experiment for the ammonia synthesis. We are currently further pursuing these systems continuing these fundamental surface science experiments (Science 383 (2024) 1357). We are aiming at realizing high area materials capitalizing on this insight.

A similar system as described above for ammonia has also been established for or CO₂ hydrogenation where we also have a long tradition of combining fundamental level as well as for high area materials. New catalyst could here be sought for synthesis of higher hydrocarbons and alcohols.

However, noise is absolute crucial, as it is attributed to an eavesdropper, therefore presenting exciting challenges and opportunities. 

Develop implantable bioelectronics devices. This is a collaborative project between the Department of Neurosurgery at Harvard Medical School (HMS), Department of Neurology at Albert Einstein College of Medicine (Einstein), USA, and Department of Neuroscience at the University of Copenhagen (KU), Denmark. The enabling technology is a newly invented MEMS microcoil chip for targeted neural inhibition, which we named Trinity. In the long term, our microcoil based implant can be used to treat many illnesses associated with the brain and beyond. We also believe our technology can be used for other neurological illnesses that benefit from local electromagnetic stimulation. The Novo Nordisk Foundation generously supports the project.

You will be affiliated with the Intelligent Transport Systems section at the Department of Technology, Management and Economics (DTU Management) of the Technical University of Denmark. The simulation model is based on SimMobility open-source framework and creating a new version of the framework with extensions for selected future mobility systems and applying it to the urban Danish case is central to this position. In this project, you will explore advanced runtime mechanisms for the timing analysis and reconfiguration of TSN-based in-vehicle networks. These networks carry mixed-criticality traffic and use TSN with multiple traffic shapers and redundant communication. You will investigate methods for runtime analysis (e.g., network calculus or similar timing-analysis methods) and/or dynamic reconfiguration (e.g., using Q-search, reinforcement learning, or metaheuristics).
