Liu Nan’s research group at the School of Chemistry, Beijing Normal University, is recruiting postdoctoral students, doctoral students and master’s students in 2025
The Wearable Materials Research Group of the School of Chemistry of Beijing Normal University was established at the end of 2017. The research group is led by Professor Liu Nan, who has received funding from the Beijing Outstanding Youth Fund (2023), the National Natural Science Foundation of China Overseas Outstanding Young Scholars (2017), and other funding. He serves as the deputy editor-in-chief of the American Chemical Society ACS Appl. Nano Mater. and a young editorial board member of journals such as Acta Physico-Chimica Sinica. He received his bachelor’s degree from Jilin University from 2002 to 2006, and his doctorate in physical chemistry from Peking University from 2006 to 2011, with his supervisor being Academician Liu Zhongfan; he was a postdoctoral fellow at Stanford University from 2011 to 2016, with his co-supervisor being Academician Bao Zhenan; he joined Beijing Normal University in September 2017. He has published more than 70 academic papers in international authoritative journals such as Sci. adv., Nat. Commun., JACS, Adv. Mater., ACS Nano, Nano Lett, etc., with more than 7,000 citations and an H-index of 33. The main research direction of the research group is to design and synthesize high-performance electronic skin materials, prepare and develop biomedical electronic devices, and use them for long-term high-quality stimulation and collection of neural electrical signals.
The research group has sufficient resources, complete facilities, and generous treatment. It has established long-term cooperative relationships with many research groups at home and abroad to support students in conducting challenging research projects and applying for doctoral funds. direction The research
group plans to recruit 1-2 master’s students and 1-2 doctoral students each year.
Once selected, the research directions you will be engaged in are:
1. Design and preparation of bioelectronic interface materials for electrophysiological signal sensing and modulation;
2. Research on the interface electrochemical mechanism of electrodes/skin (tissues, organs, etc.);
3. Applications for wearable or implantable electronics in brain science;
4. Other topics of great scientific significance.
Application requirements
Doctoral students: current or previous master’s students, with at least one SCI paper as the first author, and English level 6 passed. Interdisciplinary studies are encouraged: interfacial electrochemistry, polymer physics, polymer chemistry, organic chemistry, biomedical engineering, bioelectrochemistry, biochemistry and other majors are preferred. Enrollment will be formally in September 2025, and those who can join the group in advance will be given priority. Personal conduct: strong self-motivation, refuse to give up, have a strong desire for scientific research (key points), be pragmatic and hardworking, and good at communication and cooperation.
Master’s students: Candidates must have the following characteristics: good character and academic performance, excellent grades, like to think, be diligent in hands-on work, persevere, optimistic and enthusiastic. Candidates must pass English level 6 and have strong English comprehension. Those with certain undergraduate research experience are preferred, especially those who have engaged in interfacial electrochemistry, organic synthesis, polymer synthesis, and bioelectrochemistry during their undergraduate studies are more welcome.
Postdoctoral: This position is open all year round. For outstanding candidates, the salary and benefits will be in accordance with the postdoctoral salary of Liyun of Beijing Normal University, and their future career development will be actively planned.
