Elephants gesture with an intention to communicate their desires, study finds – New Study
Humans have long mastered the art of expressing their goals and needs through both language and gestures. A similar behavior is also observed in non-human primates, who use complex gestures to convey what they want, but does the use of deliberate gestures extend beyond primates to other members of the animal kingdom?

Humans and primates are known to use deliberate gestures alongside language to communicate desires. However, a key question remains: is this gestural communication unique to primates, or do other animals also intentionally use gestures to express their goals and needs? This invites investigation into the broader animal kingdom to explore if gestural communication, previously thought of as primarily primate behavior, exists in other species.
