      Are you passionate about the intersection of Machine Learning and Genomics? The University of Copenhagen (UCPH) is looking for a Doctoral Candidate to join the MLCARE MSCA Doctoral Network for a 36-month fellowship starting June 2026!

      The Project: Foundation Models for Genomics and Health Trajectories This research focuses on developing self-supervised foundation models (like AlphaGenome and GPNStar) to link genomic variation with longitudinal health data. You will work at the Department of Biology and the Centre for Machine Learning in the Life Sciences (MLLS) to advance genomic AI in precision medicine.

      Who is the Ideal Candidate?

      • MSc in Bioinformatics, Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field.

      • Strong Python/PyTorch skills and experience with bioinformatics pipelines.

      • A curious mindset and interest in protein language models and biological sequence analysis.

      • Eligibility: Must meet the MSCA mobility rule (not resided in Denmark for >12 months in the last 3 years) and not yet hold a PhD.
