      🔬 PhD Position in Mitochondrial Biology – Poland 🇵🇱

      🧬 Exploring the Molecular Mechanisms of Mitochondrial Protein Import

      Mitochondria are the powerhouses of our cells, containing around 1,000 different proteins that must be imported from the cytosol. This PhD position focuses on understanding how the TIM23 translocase complex regulates protein import into human mitochondria – a critical process that impacts mitochondrial function, metabolism, and disease. The research will investigate how different forms of this molecular machinery shape the mitochondrial proteome through advanced proteomics and molecular biology approaches.📌 Position Highlights:

      ✅ Salary: 5,500 PLN net per month

      ✅ Duration: 4-year full-time fixed-term contract

      ✅ Start Date: February 1, 2026

      ✅ Location: International Institute of Molecular Mechanisms and Machines (IMol), Warsaw, Poland

      ✅ Research Group: Prof. Agnieszka Chacinska’s Lab

      ✅ Project: OPUS 29 – “Regulation of Protein Import into Human Mitochondria and its Impact on the Mitochondrial Proteome”

      ✅ MSc degree (or equivalent) in molecular biology, biophysics, biochemistry, chemistry, or related life sciences fields
