Applications are invited for a postdoctoral research associate position at Michigan State University to work with Prof. Dechun Wang and his research group on soybean breeding and genetics.
The incumbent will be responsible for managing two research projects about soybean improvement for high protein content and white mold resistance. The incumbent is expected to conduct independent research in the areas of bi-parental QTL mapping, GWAS and genomic prediction. Duties of this position involve creating and analyzing large genomic and phenotypic datasets for the purpose of better understanding genetic architecture of the two traits in soybean. In addition, the incumbent will in charge of projects management, lab research, field research. As appropriate to the appointment, the incumbent will publish in high-quality, high impact peer-reviewed journals, and participate in scientific meetings, writing work plan and annual report.

PhD in Genetics, Plant Breeding, Computational Biology or related field.
- Technical knowledge in the disciplines of quantitative and population genetics, genomics, statistics, and analytics.
- Technical knowledge in whole genome association, genomic prediction and other standard population and quantitative genetic analyses.
- Technical knowledge in analytics, modelling, simulation, and data science.
- Technical knowledge of standard statistical computing languages (R or Python).
