The Division of Environmental Health at KSOM invites applications for a post-doctoral research associate position in environmental epidemiology to conduct cutting-edge research investigating the influence of environmental pollutant exposures on health risks including adverse birth outcomes, cardiometabolic diseases and autism in longitudinal cohorts. The position is funded by NIH-supported environmental pollution (endocrine disrupting chemicals and air pollution) and complex disease projects. The ideal candidate will have expertise in environmental health, epidemiology and/or biostatistics who can perform large population research and write scientific papers under the mentorship of the study PI. The postdoctoral researcher is expected to conduct statistical analysis independently and be familiar with clinical study, data collection, epidemiological study design and statistical methods applied for large longitudinal cohort studies and environmental chemical data. Candidates who have experience and interest to conduct big data science and omics research are preferred.

As a postdoctoral researcher at USC, fellows will have the opportunity for advanced multidisciplinary training through coursework in any of the Department’s graduate programs including Epidemiology and Biostatistics as well as other departments at USC. Fellows will also have numerous opportunities for career development training through meetings, seminars and workshops hosted by SC-CEHC and KSOM. The enriched career development program will help early investigators develop essential skills for an independent research career, including grant and manuscript writing, scientific presentation, and collaboration with multidisciplinary teams.
