GUTVIBRATION is an EU project with the aim to provide industrial solution to “organ on a chip”. In this project we are linking different in vitro cultured organ model (organoids) together using lab automation and variants of microtitre plates. DTU Health tech is looking for a postdoctoral researcher to work on Work Packages 1, 7 and 8 (see www.gutvibrations.org).
This GUTVIBRATIONS postdoctoral position will focus on designing and fabrication of plate inserts for linking different organoids together in a physiological manner, characterising the mass transport in these plates, scaling the plates for high throughput screening and compatibility with robotics and automated TEER measurements, exploring injection moulding prototyping using 3D printed moulds and providing devices for the consortium for testing.
Responsibilities and qualifications
We are seeking an engineer, preferably with knowledge in a wide range of polymeric fabrications techniques, including 3D printing. Large experience with miniaturized assay formats based on microfluidics is required. Experience with-in organ-on-a chip research is an advantage but not a requirement. A strong inventive mind set is required.
There will be two postdocs and DTU Health tech, where one is focused on engineering and automation and the other is focused on validation of devices and structuring of hydrogels. Both postdocs will have lots of opportunities to work with all the different partners in the project network.
We are looking for an independent postdoctoral researcher who is able to explore new ways by combining different techniques in order to contribute to the success of GUTVIBRATIONS. Because of the collaborative and international nature of the project the candidate should be an excellent team player, be proficient in the English language and have excellent communication skills. In addition, the candidate should have a first author peer-reviewed publication in the last two years.
Candidates must hold a PhD degree (or equivalent).

Salary and terms of employment
The appointment will be based on the collective agreement with the Danish Confederation of Professional Associations. The allowance will be agreed upon with the relevant union. The period of employment is 2 years.
