Located within the Department of Neuroscience, Cell Biology, and Anatomy, we are seeking a highly motivated postdoctoral associate with experience in small-molecule mass spectrometry (prefererable LC/MS) and/or mass spectrometry imaging. Full training will be provided in mass spectrometry imaging if required. We operate in highly collaborative environment in which the candidate will have access to multiple Orbitrap and QTRAP mass spectrometers, advanced microscopy technologies (including 3D light sheet microscopy), laser capture microdissection, and imaging mass cytometry. Major responsibilities include: – Operation and maintenance of Orbitrap and QTRAP mass spectrometers (MALDI and LC/MS) – Design and develop novel sample preparation methodologies to enhance sensitivity and maintain tissue morphology for lipid, metabolite, and drug distribution studies – Dissemination of data through publications in scientific journals and presentations at national and international conferences. – Maintaining and developing collaborations with industrial and academic partners – Organizing electronic records, data files and databases related to studies and experiments. Assist in data analysis and presentation of findings at weekly team meetings and at larger meetings with consortium members (US and international) – Follow established biosafety protocols and maintain compliance with biosafety regulations/requirements. Salary will be awarded according to the NIH postdoc salary payscale and will be commensurate to experience.
