Professor Duan Liting received a bachelor’s degree in chemistry from Renmin University of China and a PhD degree in chemistry from Stanford University. From 2016 to 2018, he conducted joint postdoctoral research in the Department of Chemistry and Bioengineering at Stanford University. Since 2018, he has been in the Department of Biomedical Engineering at The Chinese University of Hong Kong. As an assistant professor. The research team uses the emerging multidisciplinary biotechnology-optogenetic technology-to develop methods for precise regulation of cell activities to achieve biomedical applications in the treatment of neurodegenerative diseases, cancer and other diseases. The research content includes the use of protein engineering and molecular cloning technology to design and optimize protein interactions, and the realization of remote reversible light control of important intracellular biological processes such as organelle transport and cell signaling pathways.
